Founded in the 6th century, Buddhism has spread across the world and remains one of the largest religions in the world. Its symbology is rich in mythology and depiction of complex Buddhist teachings and principles. They are a way to spread the teachings of Buddha and bring them in a more visual form. These symbols also continue to see usage in modern times. Whether individually depicted or together, the imagery is used in prayer flags, carpets, and ritual art.
